HOhME
Barry Mason’s gong, percussion and cello ensemble.
Eclectic trio HOhME brought a guided meditation to St Lawrence,
combining, as well as traditional, modern and hand-made instruments
to create a unique and seasonal sound journey.
ABOUT THE MUSIC
A collaboration between The HangHang Duo (hanghang.co.uk) playing hand pans, udu drums, gongs, bells and other instruments hand crafted by Barry Mason and Lina Lotto themselves. Joining them was JuliLa (Julia Palmer-Price) on cello and voice (julila.co.uk). Each performance was an organic experience, based around simple structures whilst tuning into the present moment, and incorporating voice as well as some melody and rhythm.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS JuliLa is a classically trained ‘cross-over’ cellist and composer who has developed a Cello’ScooL in The Malvern Hills. Life partners Barry and Lina, who met in a Gong bath, have been exploring making meditative music together ever since and, more recently, began forging their own gongs, singing bowls and bells. |
